Aside from 2 moments in the fight sequences where I couldn't tell what the hell was happening, I thought it was an excellent movie.

The story was actually creative and interesting, the little amount of dialogue wasn't bad, and the acting was actually pretty good, except for maybe the 'sacrificial chamber' guy who had a maximum of five lines anyway.

I thought the character interpretations/designs were fresh and interesting, and the creature effects were actually amazing. Paul Anderson boasts a lot of things, but he wasn't lying when he said the creatures look they best they ever have. I loved the aliens and the way they moved, at no point did I say 'oh, that's a puppet' or 'man, look at that CGI. And the queen fighting was awesome.

Usually I'm not satisfied with movie the first time I see it in the theatre, but this time I was satisfied, and I daresay impressed. I definately enjoyed the movie and may even use my second free ticket tommorrow.

Oh, and I thought the way they interpreted both the alien and predator fonts into the credits was excellent.

I'm also happy to answer any questions you guys may have.

    BE FOREWARNED. MASSIVE SPOILERS.

Ok, here's what I liked and didn't like. The movie wasn't perfect, it wasn't phenomenal, and it wasn't really excellent, but I was entertained, and I'm going to see it again, if only because the Preds were bad ass.

    THINGS I LIKED.

The Predators. They were just bad asses. Take no shit, kill anything that moves bad asses.

The Aliens. Deadly as all fuck, and more than a match for a Predator.

The fight scenes. Totally fucking rad.

    The Queen.

The whole backstory between the Aliens, Predators and humans was awesome, and I liked how they tied alot of stuff in, especially the takeoff on the Atlantis legend.

Weyland sticking his pen between his fingers like Bishop did with the knife in Alien.

All in all, I liked most of the movie, but there are certain things that annoyed me.

    THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE.

Way too much focus on the humans. Alot of the movie's impact was ruined by the fact that Lex was made out to be more badass than the two Predators who bought it. I wanted Aliens vs Predators, not Black Girl vs. Aliens with a Predator hanging around in the background.

Celt and the other Predator dying so damn quickly. Yes, Celt put up a good fight, but I seriously doubt any Pred would be so stupid as to delay killing an Alien like he did. The other Predator just went out like a bitch.

How the fuck is Lex getting home?

The ending bothered me, if only for the potential that is wasted if there is no sequel.

Why kill Weyland at this point? I'd imagine that the androids are already in production, but I'm kind of bothered by the fact that he died so long before Alien took place.

If I were to recommend it, I'd recommend it to someone that has an open mind regarding both franchises and really just wants to see Aliens and Predators killing each other. Anyone who has pre-set notions or is a hardass purist will not like the movie.

I agree that it wasn't really Alien vs. Predator. More just Alien & Predator. I was thinking that during the movie, but by the end I realized that I didn't really care.

    SPOILER

I was also wondering about Lex getting home, but then realized that I also don't care about that. Maybe she'll die. Maybe she'll make it back to the ship. No big deal to me either way.

I thought it was enjoyable. My only real problem with it was how fast the Aliens were born. From egg to facehugger to human host to full size alien in a matter of minutes. Felt too rushed.

I just assumed Lex was going to get in that truck that was conveniently there and drive back to the Ice Breaker.

Anyway, I loved the movie too, and this proved that Paul Anderson is actually capable of making a good movie. It's eaily one of the fastest paced movies I've ever seen. When it was over I thought "Damn, it's over already?" I really hope there is another one.

On another note, who think's the AvP CC Exclusive is gonna be Lex with Alien tail-spear and head-shield?

Somebody proposed that, but Dion said it isn't so.
